quote 1

“With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it’s just not acting. It’s lying.” Johnny Depp.

Quote 1 reflection: Everyone can be someone they’re not, that’s called art. You can create something so real and yet it’s not reality. It’s why you can’t be someone you’re not without being a little you, you have to have “you” with a twist of some art and sparkle. While creating that art, put all your heart in it, don’t lie about a single line or color. You learn to be that character, you get to know that character and that character becomes you. Knowing that character or art, you start to add in little bits of yourself to help the character come alive and be real.

Quote 2

“There’s a drive in me that won’t allow me to do certain things that are easy.” Johnny Depp
Quote 2 reflection: Using this quote while acting or singing or just everyday life really helps, Don’t pick the easy way out, if art was easy, everyone would do it. Choosing to go for a main role or doing a risky painting, it’s not easy, but it will help you grow as an artist and person. Having this drive helps you grow. It helps me cause this man is such an amazing artist, and He’s taken so many acting “risks” and ended up nailing the role and making it better than what was intended.

Cara Delevingne
“The best therapy is actually the more aggressive kind when they break you open; they unleash you.” Cara Delevingne
Quote 1 reflection: This quote means a lot to me only because while acting, You have to have the real you in the character. It kinda goes back to the Johnny Depp’s quote. Acting is a very good therapy cause whatever art you are doing, will rip you open it will throw you onto a roller coaster and that’s what art does, it gives you challenges. It will be the one role that you are the most opposite from. Directors will put you on the spot and just let you have it. That’s the best cause you get more help and more learning that way.
Quote 2
“I treat the camera like a person-I gaze into it. Photos are a flat thing, and you need to put life into them.” Cara Delevingne
Quote 2 reflection: This last quote goes back to them all, first of all the camera puts you on the spot, second, it makes you be you and the character all in one. doing this, off and on camera, helps you. Putting life into it that character or painting or singing, just means you know the part so well, you become one with that piece of art and isn’t that what you want?

Original Aesthetic Statement : Being an artist, means that I literally have to step out of what I am and become who I am. Release all the fear and anxiety and just go for it. Know the part, know who you are, and own it. Living in constant fear about YOUR piece of art will keep you from nailing it. Your art is what you make it. Art is expressing your thoughts and your feelings, being able to release whatever you’re holding back, every single emotion that’s built up. It’s letting the world see you broken down and built up and being okay with them knowing you’re only human and that its YOUR expression.

  1. i really love what you said about how art is how you have to step out and become who you are. i agree with you because art is not only staying true to yourself but finding out who you can become as well.

  2. I could really connect with the second quote for Cara Delevine, because if you look at a picture, then you’re not going to see people sitting there with a straight face (normally), they might have some kind of pose and smile.
