I spent time to evaluate and search people who inspire me, as an individual and that change the perspective of art. I picked CL, a Korean pop artists for South Korea, and Leonardo DiCaprio, an American actor. They talk about overcoming hurdles when you put your art out there.

Quote 1: “You can just enjoy music without understanding it, music is a universal language”
Original Student Reflection on Quote 1: Music is a form of art that you can express in anyway or beat you like. You may not understand what they’re saying but you can hear the passion in their voices. Genre is not a concept for only one country, it is a worldwide thing.
Quote 2: “Music has no language barrier. It’s just music, you could just listen to it and feel it. When you’re on stage, you connect to it. It doesn’t matter if it’s Korean or English. It’s just a matter or what we show and inspire”
Original Student Reflection on Quote 2: I, personally listen to a genre of music called kpop or Korean pop. When I tell people that i listen to Korean music, they ask my why? “Do you even know what they’re saying?” Or “You’re not Korean” Last time I checked a genre was not assigned to a group of people or language. You could be African American an listen to Spanish music. Or be a Caucasian and listen to Rap or hip hop. It doesn’t matter. Well, it shouldn’t. It’s all about the true and raw emotion in which the artist presents their music. And how well the artist can display it so their audience can receive it.

Quote 1: “I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes out you…to move each day count.”
Original Student Reflection on Quote 1: Throughout the years, people start to realize that we can never predict the future. Sure we can plan for the future and hope, pray and believe that it will it will come in lines with our plans. But we ever know. With that in mind, we have to live life with meaning. Create something that will mark you down in history. All artist start out small and get bigger and bigger. Just do something that you think will make your life significant.
Quote 2: “Pay close attention to those who don’t clap when you win.”
Original Student Reflection on Quote 2: Being able to create something and putting out there takes a lot of gut.. And courage. They’re are always going to be people who are going to give us the cold glare and the intentional too hard pat on the back. They are everywhere. You can’t remove them. What I remember anytime I see them is that I am a brave person who created something and showed the world that. Sometimes the “haters” are that little hybrid angel devil thing that criticizes you for you to become better.
Original Aesthetic Statement:
Being an artist, in any shape or form, will have its barriers. The process of finally becoming an artist is overcoming these barriers. These barriers are there to make you stronger. When making an form of art, keep in mind that anyone and everyone should be able to relate or understand what it stands for. Having art that can be processed world wide is the best type of art.
