My Aesthetic Philosophers: Oscar Wilde & Elvis Presley
“In your soul there are infinitely precious things that can not be taken from you.”
There are always different things with in each person That’s why no one is truly the same. Wilde is all about loving yourself and how important it is to be your own individual. Everybody is different in their own way and that’s why it is so beautiful to express that. In a world where everyone is trying to be someone else, you have to know that the best thing you can be is simply yourself.
“Life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself.”
Creativity is very important to all types of art and is even required in most cases. Oscar Wilde always expressed his own form of independent creativity. Wilde was never afraid to share his work, no matter how different or odd it was. He really set the example for all artist, including myself. He reminds me to not let people influence the best part of myself which is my creativity. I remember I should never regret anything that I’ve worked on because of someone elses difference of opinion.
“Values are like fingerprints nobody’s are the same, but you leave em all over everything you do.”
Values are very important for every person. With out them we would walk around aimlessly doing things without purpose. Elvis would always put everything in his work showing us what he valued the most through his music. He really did leave his values all over everything he did. This quote inspires me day-to-day reminding me that we should always have the right to speak freely and put what matters to us out in the world, because it is who we are. What we contribute to the world should be something we are for and never against, something we have put our heart and soul into.
“It’s not how much you have that makes people look up to you, it’s who you are.”
Some people will always care more about the things you own, while others care more about who you are. What is on the inside will always be more important to me, like it was to Elvis. Being prejaduce to someone for how little they own or even in some cases on how much they own isn’f fair. Every person should be viewed equally in everyhting. A man who lives in a old falling apart house has as much potential as the man who owns a masion.
My Artistic Interpretation
Art is so important to everything we do, because it makes long-lasting impressions that can never be taken away. I think it is phenomenal that people can share their art no matter who they are as far as religion, gender, race, and what they possess. Creating something that is original and personal to you, and having the bravery to share your work with the world is simply amazing. I am truly motivated and inspired by these to brave men to work harder and put all of myself in the work that Im passionate about.
